The Big Idea

What if an LLM could ingest all the information about Workday’s 100,000 fields of data to make it possible for users to ask complex questions in plain language?

The Challenge

Sometimes even engineers don’t know what the latest technology can do. How do you create a “prototype” that’s real enough to start a good conversation?

The Result

Creating a demo in ChatGPT gave me a clear picture of what the technology could and couldn’t do. The video really changed minds and the project was given the go-ahead.

The Team

I was the principal investigator, data faker and prompt author. ChatGPT was my partner in data science and visualization.

The Lesson

A demo like this earlier in the project would have facilitated much better conversations and might have allowed us to go farther with the initiative.
